For my MCAT, I remember doing practice questions and one of the services I used would automatically ask me "Why do you think you got this question wrong?"
There would be choices like "Misread the question" "Didn't know key information" etc
At the end of the questions, I was able to pull up the stats on what the main reason was that I was getting questions wrong. For me, I was misreading the questions. But I never would have known that that was my main issue until I saw it.
The options I think would be best to have for us would be:
Misread/misunderstood the question
Knew the diagnosis, but didn't know the treatment
Was not able to make the diagnosis
Did not know the fact being tested
Other: (type in answer)
Then, when people finish their questions, they can see why they are getting info wrong and focus their studying to that. For example, if most of the questions wrong are because you misread, then you need to practice questions slowly. If most of the questions wrong are lack of treatment knowledge, then you need to focus on that.
Thanks for this suggestion! We'll include this in our list of future improvements. We are working on future development in Q&A and Flashcards and your feedback has a direct impact on our planning. We can see how this would be very helpful to identifying why you are answering questions incorrectly and would benefit from additional focus in your learning. Thank you!
